Kentuckians for the Commonwealth is a statewide organization committed to finding solutions to unfair political, economic and social systems. Sr. Marie Gangwish, CDP, spent twenty-five years of active ministry at the end of her life working in the mountains of southeastern Kentucky, where strip mining and pollution were particularly harmful to Appalachians. As an ardent KFTC member, she championed its causes and left a legacy of service. Each year since her death in 2004 KFTC honors her memory by recognizing others who lobby, organize, and fundraise for the causes of KFTC. This year Sr. Mary Joyce Moeller, CDP, presented the award and said it gave her an opportunity to let her KFTC companions across the state know that the CDPs still stand with them.
