The mission statement of the Women of Providence in Collaboration promises that we will respond to the needs of our global society.  The LCWR Global Concerns Committee has called upon all of us to reflect on the words of Pope Francis in his World Day of Peace message.  The Women of Providence add our wholehearted support  to the following words of Pope Francis:

“Today more than ever, our societies need ‘artisans of peace’ who can be messengers and authentic witnesses of God the Father, who wills the good and the happiness of the human family.  Political addresses that tend to blame every evil on migrants and to deprive the poor of hope are unacceptable.  Rather, there is a need to reaffirm that peace is based on respect for each person, whatever his or her background, on respect for the law and the common good, on respect for the environment entrusted to our care and for the richness of the moral tradition inherited from past generations.”

As an organization our members welcome the stranger, believe in the abundance of our Provident God, and stand against fear and hatred of any kind.  We join together with all who believe in having a compassionate voice and speaking out against policies that do not respect the dignity of all people.  The Women of Providence in Collaboration, and their members will continue to work for peace in our world and to be a voice for the voiceless.
