The Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary of the Woods, Indiana, welcomed 23 new Providence Associates at the Rite of First Commitment on November 10, 2018. At the same time, 45 associates renewed their commitment. Following the commitment ceremony a reception was held to celebrate with family, friends, associates and Sisters of Providence as our Providence Community continues to grow. The current number of associates is 263.

In October 2018, orientation was held for 19 new candidates. At the same time 4 current candidates extended their year of discernment before making their first commitments. Providence is calling women and men of all faith traditions to the Providence Community of the Sisters of Providence and Providence Associates. We continue to receive inquiries and are preparing for another group of candidates in October 2019.
